Biography
Elizabeth Brown is an oboist, adventurer, and gardener. Born and raised in Powell River, British Columbia, she holds a Bachelor of Music from UBC and an Artist Diploma from the Vancouver Academy of Music and has studied with Marea Chernoff and Beth Orson.
Elizabeth was awarded the 2004 and 2005 Mildred Johnson Scholarship in Music, the 2007 and 2008 Vancouver Academy of Music College Scholarship, and the 2007 W. R. Bingham Family Scholarship.
A founding member of the comic chamber opera group, OperaFeHk in Vancouver BC, she currently organizes and plays with the Untitled Ensemble; a chamber music group dedicated to playing underplayed and forgotten works with an emphasis on works by womxn and non binary composers. As well as performing, Elizabeth teaches oboe, and english horn online, and in person in Kitchener, Ontario.

When not making music, Elizabeth likes to sail, garden, assure her cats Hotdog and Bacon that they are the best cats, and think about taking up karate again.
