Elizabeth Brown: Oboist
My name is Elizabeth Brown and I play the oboe, english horn, and sometimes flute. I play primarily western classical orchestral and chamber music, but am also drawn to jazz and free improv. I like to start things and plan events. I'm drawn to the odd and sometimes macabre, but am nonetheless a fairly positive person. In my end-of-world scenario I'm creating a super group of scientists and artists and building a garden-based community.
I have my Bachelor in Music from the University of British Columbia and my Artist Diploma from the Vancouver Academy of Music.
I live in Kitchener, Ontario and spend a great deal of time in Toronto and on the 401 highway. I can be booked for performances and/or clinics for schools or ensembles within the Kitchener, Waterloo, and Greater Toronto areas.
If you want me to play for your event, with your ensemble or do some recording we can probably figure something out, too. I'm open to offers and often more excited than you'd expect about new and interesting ideas, so send them my way!
